About Us

At Perfect Circle Recycling, we specialize in depackaging food waste and separating organics from their packaging, keeping valuable materials out of landfills and redirecting them to farms, composters, digesters, and recycling partners who give them new life.

Our Mission

We strive to redefine materials management through innovative sustainability practices. We are committed to diverting as much material as possible from landfills and incinerators, transforming what is typically considered trash into valuable resources.

We are proud to partner with local businesses and organizations to help achieve Kent County’s ambitious goal of diverting 90% of materials from landfills by 2030. Our dedication to sustainability benefits both our clients and the environment.

Materials are a valuable resource. Our goal is to create a circular economy where waste is minimized and resources are continually repurposed.

Owner/COO

Todd Wilson is the original founder of Perfect Circle Recycling, launching the company in 2012 with a vision to make sustainable materials management more accessible. He began by renting portable containers to collect recyclable materials at concerts and festivals, laying the foundation for what would become a dynamic and adaptive recycling business.

In 2019, Todd led the company’s evolution by securing a warehouse and investing in its first depackaging machine to process food waste. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted plans to work with schools and restaurants, Todd quickly pivoted PCR’s focus to food processors and grocery retailers, a decision that fueled the company’s growth and shaped its strategic direction.

As COO, Todd oversees daily operations, drives innovation in material diversion, and builds lasting partnerships that support PCR’s mission to advance sustainable waste solutions.

Our Facility

Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, our high-capacity facility is designed for efficiency and sustainability. Equipped with advanced technologies, including an industrial-grade depackager, we process a variety of materials, separating organic materials from packaging.

Our operations prioritize minimal environmental impact, ensuring that all processes align with our sustainability goals. We have the capacity to hold 20,000 gallons of liquid materials, which can be converted into animal feed or renewable energy through anaerobic digestion. By working closely with local farmers and food distributors, we ensure that the organic materials we process find beneficial uses, helping to strengthen our local economy and community.
